Hi, I’m Emily! My superpower is presenting information in a way that is clear, easily understood, and inspires your audience to action.
I'm both creative and analytical in nature, and I bring both of these qualities to every project that I undertake. I welcome the challenge of organizing and designing information in a clear, compelling manner, and I love learning about whatever topic your work happens to be about in the process. I view design as being similar to teaching; in both cases, the goal is to motivate your audience to engage with the information you're presenting, and to understand and connect with it once they do.
I have a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in urban planning. The design theory and workshopping skills I honed during my graduate studies translate well to my current work.
More recently, I graduated from Eleven Fifty Academy's UX/UI Design bootcamp, and I use what I learned in that program to create better experiences for anyone who interacts with my work. In my professional life, I've worked mostly in design and marketing-related roles for nonprofits, small businesses, and educational organizations.
Outside of work, I'm an avid reader of both fiction and nonfiction. I love exploring new places and cultures, and I'm always looking for opportunities to improve my French and Spanish language skills. But I'm mostly a homebody, and I can usually be found with a book in hand, and a cat close by.
